Nos. 90-93, Broad Street

Designed by architect Simon Hudspith, this building was purpose-built to replace the 1936 Boots Building with a number of individual shops. This was originally intended to be six, although that was then reduced to three and, by the time of completion in 2003, had become two shops of different sizes.

Barclays (bank)

Barclays is a London-headquartered universal bank originally founded in 1690 by John Freame and Thomas Gould. Its name comes from James Barclay - Freame's son-in-law - who became a partner in 1736. Its eagle logo dates back to 1728, in various forms, and was the basis of a coat of arms granted to it in 1937.
