This building was erected in 1975 and replaced a former Woolworth's building from the 1920s. It was initially occupied by a John Farmer shoe shop.

Fashion Store (temporary trader / pop-up store)

Fashion Store was a temporary trader selling discount clothing - 'everything £5' according to the Reading Post that occupied No. 51 towards the end of 2003.

2003 - O2 moved to No. 20 and was replaced by one or more temporary traders - a 2003 Goad Map named a men's and ladies' wear retailer called Profile, while the Reading Post reported occupation by an 'Everything £5' shop called Fashion Store.

 

Building:
Former H Samuel 'Jewel Centre'

This building was erected in 1966 as an ultra-modern three-storey 'Jewel Centre' for jeweller H Samuel, with a lift between the floors. It replaced two former shops on the site.
